Illyrian Training Pt2

Her hair bouncing behind her as she ran, Herdis was breathing out more harshly then when they had started. Beside her Cassian didn't look bothered in the slightest by the pace he was setting for her. Breathing in through her nose she let them go maybe a dozen more steps before she spoke. Her breathing might have been a little labored but her voice carried to the general keeping pace beside her. "I don't know if Rhys mentioned it to you yet. But there's a woman named Ianthe currently squatting near my sister in the Spring Court." She looked to the side to watch his profile but he didn't react beyond nodding for her to continue. So she did. "Sassa is worried about her and Rhys says she is right to be. He plans on trying to talk to Tamlin for me, so I wont have to go over there and hurt someone. But if talks don't go well and my sister isn't safe there I want to go and get her out. I know Grimm will come with me no questions asked but I don't want to impose and assume you would come as well. I know Rhys would if I asked but politically its not a great look for one High Lord to go and steal from anothers home right?" She asked and looked to her side again noting that he nodded. So she finished off her question, "Will you come with me if I need to go and get her?"

Cassian eyed her sideways for a minute before he snorted and nodded his head, dark hair bouncing in the bun he had looped it back into before they had started their run. "Of course I will. And you should just remember for next time, if you need me, ill be there." Herdis gave him a tired smile and nodded her head in response. "I know you 'don't wanna impose' or some shit," he even did air quotes which made her laugh and slowed her pace so she had to push herself a little harder as she matched his pace again, "But you are part of this family now, which means it goes assumed, if you need someones ass handled, I'll be happy to do it. So would everyone else in this court." She nodded her head and offered him a second smile this time not slowing herself as she told him, "Its assumed in my family too, if I call my brothers they will come. But I don't want to involve my family in court business and right now its only court business. Plus you know how my parents can get. They don't have any non intense settings when it comes to us kids. If my father even assumed there was a whiff of trouble for Sassa he would burn Tamlins manner to the ground without a second thought so she was free." She stopped talking to breathe deeply again and only continued when she had a steady hold of her breathing again. "I know this might go badly but if I can avoid bringing my family into it we also avoid having my family question how the courts operate. I don't want my two families at odds you know?" Cassian slowed their pace as they came to the steps of the House Of Wind. When they stood before the steps he leaned down, hands on his knees. As he steadied his breathe he watched Herdis who stretched her hands over her head breathing heavily.

"I get it. And im in. You can safely assume if its for you, this court, or your family im going to be there to help." His smile then was a quick flash, as sharp as the angles that made their generals appearance so fearsome. Even when his face was relaxed in a smile, one he was always quick to offer, it promised darker, more deadly things. "Rhys wont be happy if he isn't included but he will understand why. He is always a pragmatist, and he trusts you to handle yourself. Added bonus now you not only have your creepy magic, but you will soon be able to kill like an Illyrian." He wiggled his brows and laughed as he stood straight. Her matching laughter died on her lips as he pointed behind himself to the staircase that lead up past where human eyes might have been able to make out. "Now, we take the stairs." Herdis shook her head, not as a dismissal but in sheer disbelief. She had never taken the stairs up to the House Of Wind. Rhysand or one of the other Illyrians flew her in if it was needed. But to climb all 10,000 stairs was madness. "If I wanted to kill myself there are easier ways of doing it Cas," she told him but he only motioned her head of him. "Sadistic, that's what you are." Cassians laughter followed her as she moved into the long stone spiral base of the stairs. "Sadism isn't my thing, but I do think its just a little funny," he admitted before adding, "Now up you go."

Herdis steeled her spine and then she started up the stairs. This was a more forgiving pace, and she knew her body would be jelly by the time she got to the top. Cassian was always a couple steps behind her, ready to catch her if she slipped. The stairwell they took was a wide spiral of ancient stone and it would be unforgiving on a falling body. So he was her backup as her muscles screamed on their way up. They had been doing conditioning for months but this was abuse in the worst way and every so often Herdis would mumble "Sadist" under her breath and Cassian would laugh, the sound traveling up the staircase ahead of them. When she had cleared maybe 6500 of them she debated stopping, braced her hands on her knees and just waited. Behind her Cassian encouraged, "You are almost there, and then you can brag to Rhys that you have done something he never has." To be fair to Rhysand there was never a reason for him to do it, he had wings after all. But Cassian mumbled low encouragements until Herdis started to move again. When they cleared the top she leaned against the wall and mumbled against the cold stone, "I hate you so much." Cassian snorted and let her rest a moment before he held out his hand. "Come on, ill fly you to the townhouse and you can demand baths and body rubs, which your muscles will appreciate after all of this." She looked at him like for a second she might bite him, that being all she had energy left for. But then she pushed off the wall and let him scoop her up. He carried her to the balcony they usually landed on when coming to the House Of Wind. Across the river the city sparkled before them and she leaned her head against his shoulder as he took off. While they were over the water she murmured up to him, "You will have to dump me right on Rhys's lap, there's no way I'm moving again tonight." And Cassians laughter carried over the water, announcing their arrival home.

Illyrian Training Pt1

Herdis had been up with the sun, rising before her Mate with a chaste kiss to his lips before she left him tucked warm in their bed. Now over any hour later she beat into the punching bag that had been hung for her, a compromise to her demands that Cassian train her in everything he knew on first day in Velaris. Illyrian battle techniques were still well above her head but she was going to change that. She had trained with her brothers and her cousins, determined to show everyone and herself that she was capable. It had truly been a coping mechanism to start when she first had Jace leave her and then Steve. But now it was solely for her. Not to forget those who had walked away from her, and not to prove something to people who had never truly doubted her to begin with. This was about her. She had needed the barriers placed on her magic in childhood knocked down, and now she just struggled with showing herself her true potential. That meant physically, as well as magically. She knew she was smart, but she needed to be able to stand on her own. She needed to know if she lost it all tomorrow that she would be ok. She didn't doubt that Rhysand wouldn't walk out on her. But she also needed to know even if hell froze over tomorrow and he was done with her, she could take on the world alone. As she kicked the bag she thought that probably wasn't the most healthy take in the world but she couldn't help it. Her hair flopped into her hair and she brushed it back before resetting her stance and starting in again. Left right, left right, left right, kick. She grunted with her effort but it helped to burn away any thoughts of her Mate tiring of her.

The force with which the bag swung showed that she still had some energy despite the stretch of time she had been working at it. She didn't hear Cassian behind her but when he spoke she didn't break her stride, "Does it owe you money? Or did it insult your mother?" His chuckle followed behind her as he moved around to stand behind the bag, holding it steady for her. "Neither," she breathed between punches but slowed the intensity. "I was just focused. And waiting for you. You are running late," she added checking the window to see the sun now filling the sky completely. His chuckle drew her eyes back to him and he nodded, "Things ran over at the Illyrian camps. The generals thought it would go unnoticed that the women weren't training anymore. Its an ongoing process." Herdis nodded knowing that her Illyrians had been working hard to help the Illyrian women gain a stronger hold on their own lives and the freedom to be the warriors they were completely capable of being. Pulling off her gloves she told Cassian, "I ran before I came down here, and I've just been waiting on you." Her hands were still taped and she didn't pull that off as Cassian motioned for her to go ahead of him. She walked up to the first floor and then out of the kitchen and through to the patio. Cassians wings flexed behind him and Herdis held up her hands like she had all the time in the world waiting for him to scoop her up. She laughed when he did and then held tightly to his shoulders and he shot into the air.

Cassian had never held her too tightly on one of these flights, so if Herdis didn't look down she wasn't too afraid of falling. Cas treated it like it was normal, so did Rhysand and Azrael so she was no longer nervous when they flew with her. Still her arms were firm around his shoulders even though she trusted he would never drop her. But her pulse remained steady and she could talk to him now without screaming, so progress. "Rhys got back so late from his tour of the camps, I didn't have the heart to wake him this morning. He didn't mention the training but he also was very ready for bed when he got in." Cassian gagged and she slapped her hand on his shoulder, "Are you a child?" she asked him and his laughter was clearly saying that he was. "Still it might be worth some sneak trips.... or just posting up at a camp or two for a bit. So that the women really have a chance." Cassian turned over her words before he told her, "Not to far off from what Az said about the whole thing." Herdis grinned because that meant he was thinking it over and any help the Illyrian women got could only mean better things for their court. "You know Asgard has some pretty backwards views too. Like my brothers have to take my fathers throne, Asa never could, its between my brothers, then uncles, then male cousins down the line. The other kingdoms don't have those rules, my cousin Callia will take over for my uncle one day. But changes are being made slowly, like my brother Lif being allowed to take the throne though he is adopted? Its because slowly we push those changes. Good people fighting for the right thing. Plus my mother might burn down the whole city if they hurt my brothers feelings... that might also have something to do with it." Cassians laugh was again deep and it carried out on the morning air. "But all that to say what you are doing here with the women training. Its the right thing, its positive change and you are one of the good ones for fighting for it." Cassians cheeks, already deep in his natural color got darker and she smiled but didn't tease him for it.

Cassian dropped them on a mountain ridge set far back behind the House Of Mist, Velaris spread out for them in the distance. They had trained here before and the weapons they had used were still tucked into the cliff face waiting for them. It was a place she might scream or cry or embarrass herself and nobody but the two of them would know. Herdis knew it was silly she still hated being watched training here, she worried about being an embarrassment to Rhysand, though she never ever let him know she worried about such a thing. Cassian plucked up two heavy staffs to start and tossed one too her. She caught it with a grunt and didn't say a word as he moved to strike her. This was how they had started before, him testing her with a weapon that wouldn't cut off her hand or his if she handled it wrong. He knew she had trained with an ax steadily for years but this was his process so she let him have it. The vibrations of every blow rang up her arms, and though they were tired she never slowed down. He tested her, the wood smashing against each other to the left, to the right, over head and finally trying to knock her legs out from under her before she jumped over the stick. She still landed on her ass because of the rock under her heel. The air whooshed out of her and Cassian snorted as he looked down at her. "Needed a rest?" he asked as she let her own stick roll away with a snort of her own. "You suck," she said still breathless, but when he offered her his hand up she took it brushing the dirt and pebbles off her ass before she looked over at him. Fixing her ponytail she watched as he pulled free the ax's and when he was sure her hands were clear tossed her one. "Gods, this feels like coming home," she told him with a grin, testing the weight and balance in her hand before she turned to face her friend. He watched her like he was seeing her train for the first time, not smiling like he usually did. Motioning her in to make the first move Herdis didn't hesitate, she moved to strike. The two were fighting much closer then before, and the struggle to keep control when his own blows were so strong was real. But she kept at it, grunting with every strike and pushing him back when she could. She didn't gain ground but she didn't lose ground and she was feeling damn proud of herself. Her focus pulled, she didn't realize until it was too late that Cassian was cutting upward, the wood splintering in her hands as he tore her ax apart.

"Well fuck, you couldn't ruin the stupid sticks instead?" she asked him as her arms fell to her sides, heavy with the work she had put them through this morning. Cassian looked down at the splintered wood , the heavy ax blade by his foot. Nudging it he burst into laugher again and Herdis chucked the rest of the busted handle at him. "That was completely unnecessary you know." His laugher didn't stop so much as trail off, wiping his eyes as he looked over at her. "My apologies my lady. Next time I will endeavor to be more kind to your ax...." Herdis wrinkled her nose at him and this time they both burst into laugher. "Never ever talk like that again. Rhys wear suits daily and doesnt even talk like that." She shivered like it gave her chills and she folded onto the dirt, stretching her legs out before her to stretch. "Thank you for doing this with me Cas," she told him after a moment, her eyes watching him though she squinted with the sun rising higher into the sky. After putting back the one remaining ax and their staffs he sat down beside her and stretched his own legs out. While she actively stretched he reclined and told her candidly. "Im happy to Herdis. But you should know our next lesson is going to be how to escape different binds if you are captured and by the end you will want to shove me right out of the window." Herdis's green eyes, ironically so much like her mothers, glinted as she watched him, "You have wings so thats useless. Ill think up some other tortures to return the favor." Again Cassians laughter rang out over the mountaintop and Herdis, though tired and sweaty sported a bright smile. She was feeling so confidently that she had found her people and this was the right choice for her. Velaris, its people, its High Lord, they were her home now.

Letters to The Spring Court Pt2

When Azriel handed her the message that he had caught from thin air Herdis flashed him a smile, "Did it burn you? Because Sassa might be too afraid to ever send another if she started another fire, this time on you." He wasn't one for big shows of emotion but his laugh was quick and strong and made Herdis smile wider. "Even if it did now I wouldn't be able to tell you ladies would I?" Her own laugh was just as quick, sharp and loud as she shook her head, "Fair point. Dont worry, ill still tell Cassian that it happened so he can tease you mercilessly." His groan followed her down the stairs and her laughter was rang out as she cleared the landing and headed into the townhouses kitchen. Herdis picked a stool by the patio door and folded herself to read her letter. She started by smiling, offered a frown at her sisters questions and then smiled again at her warnings. Folding the paper she tucked it into her pocket and then reached down that mental link between her and her Mate, the bond that lived between them, always keeping them connected. "Rhys, do you have a minute?" she wondered down said bond and could almost feel his smile before his voice filtered into her head, "For you? Always. Is everything ok?" Herdis nodded but realized he wasn't with her and instead thought, "It is, Sassa had a question and I wanted to come and run it by you. Still in your office?" And at his assent she made her way  through the long house, knocking once on the door before letting herself in.

There stood her Mate, all violet eyes and devilish smiles waiting for her. She moved to him first, pressing her lips to his like it might have been days since they last spoke face to face and not hours. When his hands slid from her sides she released him and then turned a smile on the other person in the room. "Afternoon Mor," she called to her Mates cousin receiving a smile in return, one all too knowing given how often the poor girl walked in on her and Rhys locked together. "So, two of you here is better then one. Sassa said a priestess just turned up in the Spring Court, and she doesn't like the feel of her but she also doesn't want to rock the boat. Her name is Ianthe, and apparently her and Tamlin are old friends..." Herdis trailed off as she watched Mor and Rhys lock eyes, a look passing between them. "What was that? Whats wrong with her?" Herdis asked looking between them before Mor broke and admitted, "I don't know the whole story. I only know that she was banned from the Court Of Nightmares... it takes a lot to be banned from hell itself." Herdis swung back to look at her Mate, and he sighed before nodding, "Nothing good comes from Ianthe being back. But its not a story for here." Down the bond he murmured, "Tonight I will explain everything, though the story will anger you." And then out loud he again spoke. "Write to your sister today, make sure she knows the woman isn't to be trusted. And then I will see about speaking to Tamlin personally about the matter. Sassa should avoid Ianthe when its possible, I don't need my Mate running off to another court to start a war." Herdis snorted then, a small bubble of her tension leaving her with it. "So long as you know I would." She leaned back on her heels and nodded, "Ok, ill go to write Sassa, you two finish up here and then find me when you're done?" She offered and smiled when Rhysand returned her smile. Leaning in as she walked by she gave him one final kiss and then called as she left the room, "See you later Mor," and Mors voice called the same to her before the door snapped shut again.

Herdis jogged up to her bedroom and shoving over some of Rhysands papers from the desk there plucked up her notebook and a pen. She carried both with her to the terrace. With the sun to set soon she loved to be outside and watch night fall. She decided then she would wait for Rhys to be done with work out there. He could come and join her and she could curl into him as he told her the story he was clearly dreading having to relive. But he would, for her, because Herdis worried for her sister and he would do anything for her. "I love you," she sent down the bond and smiled when he returned it much to quickly to have been focused on his work. Flipping open her book she set about writing her letter. Her penmanship was sloppy, to the eternal horror of her mother but it was legible and Sassa would understand. Besides, with the urging from Rhys and Mor that this Ianthe was bad news she was worried, and she wanted word to get to her sister as quickly as possible. Tearing a page from her book she folded it twice before she used the same method of smoke and flames to send her letter to her sister. Sitting back in her seat she waited for her Mate to finish with his work and join her, hopefully just as the stars started to speckle the sky. She liked looking at his violet eyes with the backdrop of stars surrounding them.

My Sweet Sassa,
Be proud, that letter almost took out Az. How embarrassing for a shadow singer to get taken out by a little smoke and ash. But no really it got here fine and with zero damage so kudos. I did see the painting, it was so pretty i'm eternally jealous it wasn't for me. Also thanks for the heads up about Mom and Dad coming soon, the last thing I want is for Grimm and Asa to feel ambushed by them. As for your question you should trust yourself more. Rhys hasn't given me the whole story yet, he might never. But I trust him so trust me when I say that priestess is bad news. She's been banned from the Court Of Nightmares... that should tell you just how bad she is. Rhys lets all kinds of assholes dwell there. So stay away from her as much as possible. Stick by Tamlins side and Rhys said he will talk to Tam about taking out the trash... really he just doesnt want me going there and picking a fight. But still you were right and you be careful until she is gone. If anything at all happens you send word to me instantly. I will come with Rhys and Grimm to get you. Don't play the hero and don't try to hide a thing because then I will have to come pick a fight anyways. I love you and will come for a not fighting visit soon.
Herdis

Touring Velaris

The banging on the door was a steady almost rhymic beat before Herdis was stopped, her mate standing behind her to take her fist in his hand and press a kiss to her knuckles. "You will wake the dead if you keep that up," he told her leaning low into her ear. His warm breathe made her shiver and he knew just what he was doing so she turned her head sharply, "Rhys stop it. And he better be dead in there if he isn't opening this door when I want to see my sister. The only reason I haven't asked you to blow through this damn door is because I don't want to be scarred for life if they are doing something on the other side." Rhysands chuckle behind her was the only sound for a moment and then Herdis called loudly, "Listen to me you white wolf bastard. Open this door, I want Asa and if I don't see her soon ill knock this whole damn mountain down on your head!" Rhysands amusement was clear behind her and when the door snicked open she eyed the large man on the other side of it.

Grimm to his credit looked barely bothered by Herdis and her volume as she pushed past the man. He was a wall of solid but she skirted around him and called in a softer but happier tone, "Asa, wake up, i'm taking you to the rainbow today." In the doorway low deep voices spoke but Herdis didn't have to linger to hear them. She knew that her mate intended to take the man who would likely be her new brother in law soon enough out to see the courts and see about his new duties in the Night Court. But Asa had been the one to come here in broken turmoil, amid a rift with their parents. So Asa was her only focus, her only worry. She stood at her sisters bedside and said, "Don't make me jump in there. I don't want to smell like Grimm all day, but I will if I have to get your ass out of bed." From the doorway Rhysand now stood alone, Grimm in the bathroom to get changed and her High Lord asked with a dark brow high on his face, "Trying to make me jealous my love?" Herdis blew him a kiss and then whispered to him down their mental bond, "You can tell me just how jealous you are tonight when we are home alone. And later when you are out with Grimm and he wants to worry and check on Asa remind him she's fine and i've got her?" He inclined his head to her and then stepped back for Grimm to get through the door.

Grimm however stopped and went to where Asa still lay in their bed, groaning slightly. He whispered to her and even got her to face him, her lips raising to meet his before he took his leave of the sisters. Asa lay in bed blinking then though her eyes felt gritty and pained given how tired she was and how she had cried the night before. Knowing her parents hated Grimm and refused to allow her to be with him had made following him to her sisters court an easy one. But now she realized how much bad she had brought right to his doorstep and her guilt made her want to curl into herself. "Ohhh no you don't," her sister spoke above her head before the sheets were ripped from her body. "Herdis go away," she moaned but her sister slapped her bottom, half exposed in Grimms shirt and got her to sit bolt upright. "Was that really necessary?" she moaned and her sister stepped back and motioned to to the bathroom.
"I bought you clothes, and we can sort out more clothes today. But mostly today I am going to show you around. Take you to the rainbow. Show you all the art shops and artists. It will bring some color to your cheeks and it will show you that not just Grimm has a place here. That you arent alone. But first wash, the clothes will be on the bed and ill be waiting in the hall ok?" Herdis waited for an answer and when she got a nod from her sister she did as she said she would and clicked out into the hall.

Asa waited until she was alone before she actually shifted from the bed and moved into the bathroom. Peeling off Grimms shirt she moved into the spray of a shower, her tangled blond hair hanging heavy down her back. She scrubbed her skin, her hair, like every grain of filth that spilled down the drain would make her feel lighter. But her mind was tangled in the events of the night before. Her mother seeing her sex torn dress, her admission that she loved Grimm, the resulting fight. She had used the power linking her and Grimm to find him and then he had brought her here, where they were safe and free to be together. But her mind whirled that her staying could make things harder for him, harder for her sister and her mate who took them in. Cutting off the water she brushed her hair standing in a towel before she went back into the bedroom and plucked up the dress her sister left her. It was pale pink, brushing the floor and in the softest silk she had ever felt. It was exactly like something Asa would have picked for herself and it made her feel just a little better. She was out of her depth but her sister was here and had her back. Between Grimm and Herdis, this could all be ok.

"You done in there?" Herdis called through the closed door, her voice muffled before Asa called back, "Yes!" She was slipping her feet into sandals before Herdis tossed her a sweater, "Its still a little brisk with morning breeze so put that on too." The two sisters couldnt have been more different. Where Asa was pale, with blonde hair and their fathers height Herdis was short, akin to their mother though still taller then Amora. She had warm tones to her skin and raven hair that gleamed in the morning light. Asa was pulled out by looped arms, and Herdis used her own magics to move the sisters from the tower in the House Of Wind, to the streets of the city below.

"So this is Velaris, the city Rhys fought so hard to protect during their own dark wars. The whole city is beautiful, but the part i want to show you we call the rainbow. Its a whole section of the city thats protected by the rest, it houses all the artists, the painters, sculptors, cooks, actors, everyone who brings a little light and beauty to the Night Court." The crossed an old stone bridge, with water rushing just loud enough under them to dull any other sounds around the sisters. Herdis pointed out shops, she stopped to talk with patrons and shop keepers alike, always introducing her sister. "Shes older, but doesnt look it a day right?" Herdis said with a laugh to an old potter whos wares she had used in slowly sliding gifts into Rhys offices and the townhouse. The man handed Asa a small bowl, nothing fancy till you looked inside and saw the subtle waves etched into the clay. He likened the waves to her eyes, the same blue as a busy ocean and the sisters continued on, Asa holding her bowl tightly thinking of the mans kindness long after they had left him.

Asa ran her fingers over the waves in the bowl as she asked her sister looking out at the bridge again, "Is it always like this? So tranquil, so happy and nice?"
Herdis nodded her head, dark hair caressing her shoulders. "Its is. Its not always easy to maintain. Rhys has had a hard go of keeping this jewel protected. I think thats why hes so keen to have Grimm here with us. Hes strong, hes smart, and between him, Cassian and Azriel theres nothing that could touch this city. And no pressure but i think that you being here with him will be good for the pair of you. I mean, you both have been through hell, literally. But this is a place for healing. In the library across the river theres a haven for survivors of unspeakable horrors." Herdis knew her sister had been at the mercy of unkind men before so she didnt expand beyond that, knowing she would understand. "Theres classes and lessons on the rainbow for all kinds of art. And Rhys keeps all this safe with the cover of the Court Of Nightmares... what everyone else assumes is our actual court. The boogiemen that people see there means nobody notes what a gem this city is. A safe place where you can heal. And super pretty scenery while you wait for mom and dad to stop being mean to Grimm right?" She added with a smile and nudge of her elbow.

Asa couldnt help but think he sister was right. It might be a while before she could go home and know her parents wouldnt attack the man she loved. This was as good a place as any to try and foster some good will with them. And this was a stunning place to lick her wounds from her parents and spend time with Grimm. He had saved her without a second thought, she had come to him in tears and asked him to take her away, and he had without a question. As he always had, he put her first. This was a way for her to put him first, to make sure that he was taken care of. With this court he could become something other then the protector of the princess. And she could be with him while he did that. She nodded her head slowly. And then offered a half smile to Herdis before she spoke again. "I want to stay. Though im tired, it was a very very long night last night and i feel like i need about a years more sleep. And i want to see Grimm," she added with a tip of her head forward. "But i want to stay. This could be so good for Grimm, and I want to be with him while he does what he needs to do. Besides nobody at home will accept us being together. Here is better for now." She wanted a soak, and to curl up next to Grimm and sleep again. But even while she thought of the sad turn of events that had brought them here she smiled, a true smile because she was hopeful about what was to come for them here in Velaris.

Training with Lady Sif

When Herdis decided that she wanted to learn to fight, and properly, she didnt want to be anywhere near the training yards. Maybe once she was able to keep to her feet, but not before then. She had no desire to be seen by her brothers landing on her ass without being able to handle herself. Her temper was large and she didn’t know how she would take people watching her fail. So when she had asked Sif, a friend of her fathers, to help her she had requested they do it away from prying eyes. And now, laying on her back, ass throbbing from the times she had been knocked on it she was glad she did. “If you keep knocking my feet out from under me and I have no way to defend myself how the hell will this help?” she asked Sif angrily as she shuffled back up to her feet.

“You use whats around you, you get creative. You work with what you have or dont have. You wont always be evenly matched.” Sif wasn’t showing any emotion on her porcelain face and that only made Herdis more angry. “That doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t teach me anything,”she said stubbornly as she pushed up to standing again. Sif wasted no time in knocking her on her ass gain making her groan in anger.
