Something wicked this way comes..{TAK}{BK}

The inner conflict grew stronger and stronger a the dark force that had pried him from his grave showed him memories of his own death alone deep in the mountain as he was trapped as the Worldstone erupted half burned he was eaten while he still drew breath. The voices echoed still, "They left you to die.They abandoned you..You died for nothing..Alone and forgotten..They should suffer..They should burn.." Fayte remained still as he argued inwardly with himself " The alignment draws near the worlds are blanketed in darkness as day has become night..The preparations must be attended to they will all burn...And the Great city will sink beneath the waves.." Fayte was barely aware he was moving as he ran a small curved dagger along his wrists as his blood trickled to the ground he knew the magic he was awakening was a violation of nature as he uttered the incantations as he poisoned the wellspring of light magic with his blood a darkness would hold on any that would use magic a madness would ensue, chaos would rise. In the darkness he crouched as he turned over the broken handle of the dagger he had once wielded as a youth he could recall the blood it had spilt every face of those he had killed for his just cause he remembered placing it the woman that became his teacher. He recalled his first kiss with the woman he loved and seeking her hand in marriage. The pain that tore through him made him howl in anguish "This world is pain, all suffer I can..I should silence their suffering.."

The darkneing sky was but the first portent of what was to come as the world became locked in an eternal night as the sun was eclipsed and the skies torn open as the ethereal and demonic realms burst upon the mortal realm legion upon legion would descend beasts that had not been seen upon the mortal coil in millenia. Draconic like demon's unleashed their flame upon the land scorching the earth as the very fabric of creation shuddered under the forces that were being unleashed. Large seeming meterorite like shapes descended upon the lands smashing into the ground in flashes of green flame as the ground shuddered under impact after impact as the rock's settled they rose into vast golem wreathed in dark green flames the beast's roared as they rampaged through the lands.

As the first wave struck the lands of Atlantis they were little more than a prelude as an ancient long forgotten tower rose from th sea east of Atlantis. As the black spire rose from the depths the sounds of unearthly drums filled the air as first a few sails appeared upon the horizon as foul mist swept up from the oceans and fell upon the lands. The long dread drums began to beat louder and loader as the dark ships sailed closer and closer, ships carved from bone, their sails that of still living flesh the ships were crewed by the damned that had fallen to the vast might of the Atlantian navy risen again for one purpose.

Standing at the highest spire of the tower Fayte stood still and silent his dark robes moving in an unatural breeze as he studied the scene below. Something had reached in pulling him back from the abyss of his unnatural death his mind twisted and poisoned by grief and hate. He could feel the anguish and pain of those that had been torn from this coil and moreso those that remained he longed to bring them salvation. The only way true salvation could come by clensing this world in fire and bringing them eternal peace.

Having worked to build the very magical barriers that protected the city during it's last wore he struck his staff on the ground as he watched the barriers begin to unravel and dissolve as he countered their magic. Reaching to the source of magical energy he could feel the taint that which he had himself brought into being by posioning the wellspring of life itself.

Atlantis was a kingdom used to war a realm of legends yet how would they weather the unending tide of destruction that was to be wrought upon them. Uttering under his breath the slumbering trees began to stir as they would in times of war yet instead of obeying their wardens they snarled and flailed as they turned upon their guardians the ancient spirits of the forests had been tainted poisoned by a similar darkness that had ensnared Fayte.

Reaching into his robe Fayte removed the once clear Worldstone a crystal of immesurable power that was once a mix of deep green blue now the sphere pulsated with dark energy as tendrils of darkness cascaded across it's surface. His deep green eyes fixed on the corrupted object as a flash of light cascaded from the orb as yet more rifts tore the fabric of reality as yet more demonic warriors surged forth.

"So it begins.."
The dark tower stood like a shining beacon of darkness as Fayte sat in the grand hall he watched the scantily clad females and males impassively as they frolliced in their ancient tribal dance. Their magic was old older than established orders of magic it was primal and raw and fuelled by all manner of emotions there was no dark nor light just the power to wield and the power to succumb. Studying the reports of the first waves to arrive he nodded his dark red eyes burning with malice and unconstrained rage. "All shalll burn soon I shall unvel to them their fate and they shall learn the price of their..betrayal." He turned suddenly his eyes shimmering a deep green his tone changing too.. "Please.." The eyes flared back red as he slammed his fist down, " I have told you, Mouse..Get back inthe shadows unless you want to go back in the cage they wil burn I shall pusnish them for all they have done to us..They are used to war and death yet lets see how they deal with a foe that is not out to conqour them. Hestarted to grin as he laughed hysterically.

The Harrowing: Fayte's trials begin.

Fayte knew the time had come for him to depart he had to return to the place where he was born. His kind were born blessed and cursed to see what lay before them a curious fact when you bear in mind his kind were now all but extinct. The Harrowing marked the young ones journey into true adulthood. His twenty first birthday was in a few days time and in truth he hid the fact that failure to complete the Harrowing deadly as it was would mean his end. Fayte packed his possessions for his journey, pausing he picked up the wolf he had carved for Ara, he packed the pocket blade his brother Gge had given him and also picked up the cloak pin his best friend had given him. silently as the moon descended he slipped silently out of his window clambering into the boughs of the one nearby tree. He was stunned at first how unsteady he had become as a child moving through the trees was as easy to him as most did so on the ground. Pulling his hood up high he moved off keeping to the trees so not a track or trace would be left behind as the rain began to beat down harder and harder. He had of course left a note for his family of course yet as he departed into the woods a strong gust of wind blew his window open hammering the shutter against the side of the house as the note was swept up along with his sketches as it got snagged in the shutter the storm raged on soon the paper soaked through so only his name remained and a near illegible smudge of his weak hand writing. Making his way deep into the forest his cloak became soaked through as he travelled towards the mountains the place where he was born. Within a few hours the storm had picked up into a frenzy the wind howling in his ears as the flashes of lightning tore up the darkening sky.

It was near nightfall when he reached the base of the mountain his body near soaked through as he paused to catch his breath before beginning his slow ascent. Not using any form of aid he had to rely on his own two hands as he pulled himself up he needed to save his magic for when it was needed. His muscles began to ache as he gripped the rock face his fingers pressed into the rock as it grazed and cut his flesh. Growling he refused to yield dragging himself higher, as he did so a bolt of lightning tore through the heavens slamming into the mountain in a blinding flash forcing the young man to shield his eyes with one arm as he was dazed he felt the shower of stone and earth fro before as he hung there one handed. He could hear the groan of the ancient stone as the mountain was shook by the force as he managed to find his grip his eyes closed a moment before continuing his ascent.

 Reaching up he strained his muscles as he exerted himself as his fingernails grasped and clawed at the near vertical wall of stone. Finding a handhold he clasped it hastily without testing it only as he began to shift his grip did he have a heartbeat to realise his error as the ground caved in as he began to fall he tried to grasp at the stone only to feel it tear his fingers. Panic began to set in as he felt himself hurtling downwards. In a last ditch attempt to stop his terminal fall he he grabbed his old dagger slamming it with all his might into the stone. To his relief the blade found purchase on his third attempt lodging in a deep crack. The resulting force of gravity being denied made him cry out as pain tore through his shoulder and upper arm yet instinct alone he held to the dagger as his body slammed into the stone wall. Trying to haul himself up the pain spiked like a spear rammed through his shoulder. Just as he tried to work out what to do he heard the sound of metal creaking. The dagger he had since he was a boy the notched blade that had saved his life many a time creaked as the blade snapped. Falling once more a short distance he landed with a sickening thud on a ledge the wolfshead dagger hilt dropping from his cold numb fingers as it spiralled into the dark hundreds if feet till it clattered to the ground. Tasting blood in his mouth Fayte tried to move only to feel the ground creaking again.

"My damn..luuuuck" The last word distorted as the ground cracked and he tumbled cursing as he fell into a long forgotten tunnel sliding with increasing speed into the mountain itself. tumbling hard as he slid and fell for what felt like an eternity the dark passage swallowing him as he felt the ground leave him one more time followed by a brief relief as nothing but air surrounded him before yet again landing hard as he tried to move darkness enveloped him as his eyes closed and he slipped into that darkness. As he faded in and out of conciousness he could hear the chittering sound that reminded him of rats though much larger sounding than anything he had every heard as he lost conciousness he knew he was not alone.
