 | OUAT starter Once upon a time the fairy Maleficent fell in love with the greek God of death, Hades. Though their union didn't last long, it did result in a daughter. Maleficent named the girl, Mal, after herself and raised her on the Isle of the Lost. Growing up Mal just wanted to make her mother proud, which resulted in her becoming a villain just like her mother. And with her best friends, Evie, Jay and Carlos, the Villain Kids quickly became the gang to be feared in the Isle. Others tried to join the VK's but Mal never let them. Uma was just too stubborn to ever follow Mal's lead. Due to being rejected Uma formed her own pirate gang which didn't bother Mal, minus one little fact; Harry Hook. Mal was in love with him and for some reason he decided to join Uma's gang. This only caused a bigger rift between Mal and Uma.
Then the hero city of Auradon came calling. Prince Ben Florian wanted to bring over some villain kids to give them a chance at a new life. Mal and her friends were chosen which excited them all and Maleficent. Maleficent saw this as the perfect opportunity for her daughter to steal the fairy godmothers wand. Eager to please, Mal had agreed. But after spending time in Auradon and making some friends, Mal had a change of heart. She turned against her mother and decided she didn't want to be a villain. She wanted to be good. And so did her friends.
The next few months were touch and go for Mal. So many people watched her every move, doubting she could actually change. The pressure was too much. And the fact that Uma was becoming more and more of a pain was not helping anything. As anyone would have predicted, Uma kidnapped Ben and Mal had to save him. That fight resulted in Mal transforming into a dragon for the first time. No matter what she did, she really was her mothers daughter. Saving Ben, they all returned to Auradon and Mal realized she didn't have to be a perfect princess to be accepted in Auradon. She just needed to be herself.
A new day had come and Mal and Ben had decided to bring more villains over. The core four went home and picked some kids to bring back with promises that this would happen more often. But as they were leaving, Hades tried to break out. Mal stopped him but was drained. Not only magically but emotionally. This had been the first time she saw her dad since she was a baby. Returning home, Mal not only found her hero friends scared she couldn't protect them but Audrey had went full villain. Audrey cast a spell on Mal turning her into a old woman with no magic able to stop it. Only Hades had magic to reverse this. Mal had no choice. She had to return to the Isle and talk to her father.
Though not fully willing to help at first, Hades did agree. And with his magic, Mal and friends managed to stop Audrey and return her to her heroic side. And strangest of all, Mal and Uma managed to make amends and form a friendship. And on the romantic end, Mal and Harry finally became a couple. With everyone realizing that heroes could be villains and vice versa, the barrier on the Isle was brought down. Now everyone could go to the Isle and Auradon freely. Happy endings for everyone.
But not all was a happy ending. A curse hit Auradon and the next thing everyone knew, they were in a strange land called Storybrooke. Once again the divide between heroes and villains seemed very apparent. While the evil queen was loved. Sitting at Granny's diner, Mal looked over a menu while pondering what this life was going to have in store for her and the VK's. |
