Meeting of the Muse

Raven stood in the antechamber off from the throne room, pacing back and forth trying to get her nerves to calm themselves. The elders of her cloister watching her with calm knowing eyes. She was a young teen, with stormy eyes and raven locks, the amber and ruby saree draped about her as she was dressed to be presented to this foreign land and emperor.

Her past wasn’t easy. As early as she recalls, she has never been in the presence of any men. She has seen them afar from the gardens of the temple while growing up within the cloister. And from the story by the elders, she has no heritage past, no lineage, since she was founded abandoned within the ruins of Pashupatinath, the temple of Shiva.

Yet as she was growing up within the temple, signs that she was also a muse begins to show when she starts to reveal visions within her dreams that have come true. The cloister elders started to train and teach her all she needs to know. Such as reading and writing. The healing arts as she grew older and what incenses to use, once they learned that she goes into stronger trances when incenses are used.

At 16, she became a known muse and apt pupil to the head of the cloister. During one of her lessons, she hears the elders speaking about a letter that they have received from afar. A foreigner is asking for a muse to join his kingdom, but with conditions. The muse has to be young and lovely. And can withstand the effects of an immortal.

Raven was the youngest along with two others. They all were taught how to be presented before royalty as well as to resist against the needs of lust since it would be a death sentence in a sense for them all.

Now she, along with others and the elders stood outside of the throne room within this unknown land.
