Temp'elar Family Story: Remembering.

The Temp’elar estate looked peaceful in the early morning sun, with not a sound to be heard. However despite the outside image, within as always within family life there was mischief. Calcifer alongside the blue haired Neko Luna, crept into the attic. Seven, head of the family and Calcifer’s father had asked that nobody venture up there, filled as it was with boxes still unpacked since the families move from the old kingdom. However both Luna and Calcifer were to curious to resist, and frankly both were a bad influence on each other. Creeping up the small wooden steps Cal looked back with his finger to his lips "Be as quiet as you can Luna. Dad’s room is just down the corridor. And if we wake Mizzy there is no way she won’t wake him up!" Calcifer referred to his wife who still lay in bed asleep. Luna giggled, her tail wiggling in excitement and nodded. Calcifer opened the hatch, which wasn’t locked. Seven may have asked them to stay out, but no part of the estate was off limits to anyone in the family, except there private rooms. The attic was quiet ad dark, aside from a small degree of light shining through the small window. Luna’s big bright eyes popped over the entrance looking around inside "Wow Cal, there are so many boxes".  Cal lifted her up then began creeping around carefully "some of these boxes must be hundreds of years old". Suddenly both jumped as they heard a loud excited voice shout out "LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF!" Luna ran over to the blond giddy figure of Mizzy pushing her finger over her lips. Cal ran over "Mizzy, be quiet! If Dad finds us up here he will kick our asses!". "Yes I will" came the voice from the ladder. All three turned around with a sheepish smile to see the now standing figure of Seven a stern grin on his face. The two girls instantly turned pointing to Cal "it was his idea!" Cal did a standard face palm and mumbled "you two are such asses". Seven rolled his eyes and gestured to the ladder with all three then laughing and running to the ladder and down stairs. Mizzy bounced against one of the boxes, knocking it over as the three vanished back into the estate. Seven chuckled. Just another day in the Temp’elar family he thought as he reached down to pick up the box. From its top a small leather bound book fell out and caught his eye. It looked somehow familiar ad yet he had not seen it before. But he had.

Seven sat down on the wooden floor opening the book and noticed instantly, that it was in his handwriting. The dates were from well over two hundred years ago written atop every couple of pages. It was a journal. Since he had arrived at the old kingdom Seven had tried to fill in the many hundreds of years gaps in his memory. The box seemed to contain items that had been found and placed with his belongings over the years, but Seven had never been told about there discovery. So much confusion during the Viking war, the people that had discovered them had likely died before telling him. He sighed slightly and looked through it but noted that much of it was faded. He saw a description of a women,  tall and beautiful with dark hair. From the words he could piece together she seemed to have been someone he had trusted. Suddenly he was woken from his reading by the sound of Bri, his former lover shouting through the house "Cal! Get back here!" he rolled his eyes. Sera, his sister could be heard laughing as the playful chaos began again. Seven brought the book down and took it to his room before joining the others downstairs.

Later that evening Sera answered the door greeting the arriving Kaya, her niece, along with her husband Philip. Behind them she saw the newest family member, their daughter Lucinda. Philip smiled "it’s so good to be back home, hello Sera" he lent in hugging her as they entered. Seven heard there arrival and came to the door noting two other figures in the distance behind them. One was Cal who had ventured into the town to bring back his own daughter, Sin. Seven waved over hugging each arriving family member before gesturing them each to the dining room. The family meal was always something he enjoyed and today was no different. And yet this time, Seven felt a absence that he had never before. The thought stayed with him all evening and that night as he lay in his bed it remained. As he closed his eyes he wondered why.

Seven stood on a lake. His bare feet could feel the water splashing between his toes. There was a gentle wind that flicked through his hair. He glanced around in mild confusion but a voice calling out brought him to focus "Hello Seven, it’s been a long time". He looked at the beautiful face before him. The dark hair flicked over her face and Seven realised that somewhere in his mind he had known her. The women from the journal. He knew it was just a dream, but it was a welcome one. "I don’t remember you, but I knew you didn’t I? Who are you? Were we related?" his words seemed to stumble. But with a gentle calmness she floated closer "Seven my dear, my name is Martha. And yes we were family. If the name existed back then I guess I would have been called Martha Temp’elar" she shook her head smiling warmly "But titles like sister, wife, daughter and mother…they don’t matter. All that matters is that I was family then and I am family now". Sevens head dropped "I… wish I could remember you". She stroked his hair softly "Remembering wouldn’t change a thing. I am from a long time ago, before almost all of your current family. But the family you have now. All of them are good and warm people and while they do not know me I love them and look over them. The Temp’elar guardian angel". He smiled and felt a warmth as the beauty of the dream faded away slowly "Martha" he asked "you said almost…who else knew you?". She smiled and a slight tear came to her eye as she leant in "My beloved Sera, your sister. Tell her for me.." she leant in ad whispered Seven nodded and woke.

As the day progressed Seven put the dream behind him. The journal had gotten to him he assumed but he would finish reading it later. The day passed and Seven enjoyed seeing the whole family together. Kaya, Philip and Lucinda made their way back to their home in japan, while Cal, Mizzy, Sin and Luna went down to the Club in Blackthorn. Bri saw seven looking out of the window watching them leave "Hey it’s been nice having everyone together hasn’t it". Seven nodded "Yeah, everyone". He turned smiling and made his way upstairs. In his room he picked up the journal and looked down as a small envelope fell to the ground. Seven looked down confused and picked it up, opening it. His eyes opened wide I shock. The guardian angel. She was no dream, she was real. Seven remembered the message and ran to Sera’s room. He swung the door open and ran to her, smiling his eyes tearing slightly. She looked confused "Seven are you okay hun?" He nodded "Better than alright… I have a message for you from someone from our past". He put an arm around her and leant in "Martha asked me to tell you something…something I have only just remembered". Her eyes seemed to fill with tears of happy memories instantly at the name. Seven spoke carefully, remembering the words "She said to tell you … not to think about how she passed away, nor that she passed way. She said that she loves you now as much as she always had. That she is proud of you and will always look over you and your family". He bit his lip and lowered his head "She said one more thing. She wanted to say for all you did for her… thank you". Seven stood and made his way to the door "She was one of us wasn’t she?". Sera nodded "She still is". Seven nodded, he may not remember her. But he would never ever forget her.
