Hercules is known throughout Olympus as the Prince of Power and he lives for the thrill of battle. He also believes that it is a great honor to fight him. In modern times, He met and battled Thor when the thunder god accidentally journeyed to Olympus. He later traveled to Earth to renew his friendship with Thor and unwittingly signed a contract that made him Pluto's slave. After being rescued by Thor, he returned to Olympus until the Enchantress cast a spell on him and sent him to battle the Avengers. He later joined the team when Zeus temporarily exiled him to Earth. During that time he was brutally beaten to near death by the Masters of Evil.
