Alice came from a noble family and is the daughter of Mera Estacado and Alec Le'Tresse. Their parents met while on a mission in the Caribbean. Mera was an accomplice of Jack Sparrow as well as a friend.
She was trained to be an assassin by her father but when she was sent to infiltrate the Templar Order, she had to pose as a double agent. She was only at the young age of 19 when she started. Upon her mother's death, she warned her daughter to beware the darkness and dies on her bed.
Upset over the loss, she fled the brotherhood, and stayed at the Templar headquarters. On her 20th birthday, one assassin named Alex Dorian approaches her and asks her to come back. She knew him since childhood and also once were lovers in their teens.
She was sent to infiltrate the brotherhood only to be ambushed by them. Alex protested and told them it was him who brought her in. It took a lot of convincing, but she eventually was accepted with open arms. Alice would do assignments at night.
But she only did journal entries as she spent most nights alone. But Alex often snuck in to be with her but Alice feared their love couldn't be since she still was trying to find out what the Templars were planning as they refused for her to enter meetings.
But one named Lucian, a member of the order of Templars had a crush on Alice and he would often take her to a nice dinner. But on April 5, 1789, he tried to convince her to stay with him and she suddenly wasn't feeling good as she felt changes in her. She left Lucian behind as she headed for her quarters.
At midnight, she began throwing up shadows and eventually felt the darkness overtake her. The powers were too great, it almost killed her. But it kept her alive and made her feel reborn again. Lucian tried busting the door down as he heard her screams that nearly shattered windows.
She got up and walked toward her locked door and opened it only to bring him inside her room. The door slams shut and locks itself. Thinking it was witchcraft, he tried to escape when the lock started spewing shadows.
Being trapped, he could see in her eyes that she wasn't human. Or something wasn't human about her. Possessed by the darkness, she grabs him by the neck and slams him against the wall. She speaks in French saying farewell Lucian then kisses him before stabbing him in the heart.
Realizing what she had done, she packs her things and flees the Templar Order. She went to the brotherhood of assassins and there was greeted by Alex. He brought her in and the founders of the brotherhood told her that she has the darkness. They explained everything and she knew she had to find her father who has retired from being an assassin.
He explained to her that his now deceased wife once had these powers and were now passed down to her. Stricken with grief, Alice was angry and almost stormed out, but was stopped by him as he heard that one Templar agent was murdered and there was a bounty on her head.
Alice knew this was only the beginning to end the Templar's rule in Paris.
