Alpha, portrayed by Samantha Morton, is the leader of the Whisperers, a group of survivors that camouflage themselves with the skin of the walkers, so they can live in the exteriors while functioning as the main antagonist of the ninth season. The group discovered an ingenious way to be protected from attacks of the dead, by killing and skinning them and wearing their skin in order to mask their scents and move freely among herds, while attacking other survivor camps and settlements as well.
