Metting him ... Category: Uncategorized
She had fallen from the heavens, not like a feather drifting gently from the sky, nor like a star fading into the darkness. She had fallen as though she had been violently cast out of paradise itself, the heavens had rejected her.
Infernia plummeted through the endless darkness, her body surrounded by flickering flames that twisted and followed her descent like hungry spirits. The wind screamed against her ears, tearing through her golden locks and whipping them across her face, her wings refused to open.
The once magnificent feathers, half black and half white, hung broken against her back. Their delicate structure had been twisted and damaged, as though something had shattered them before she ever began to fall.
She tried to spread them, but she did not succeed, a sharp, agonising pain shot through her shoulders she was only human for little time till her power returned to her true form .Her halo flickered above her head, its golden light struggling against the darkness surrounding her. She reached for it instinctively, but her trembling fingers grasped nothing but empty air.
The ground below grew closer, to fast.
The flames intensified, trailing behind her like the burning remnants of a world she could no longer remember.
And then she crashed .
Her body struck the wooden floor with a deafening impact, the old boards groaned beneath her weight. Splinters burst across the room, scattering beneath the furniture as her head slammed against the unforgiving surface.
For a moment, everything disappeared.
The fire died.the wind fell silent.
And the heavens above her seemed impossibly distant.
Infernia lay motionless among the broken wood, her golden hair spread across the darkened floor like liquid sunlight. Her halo hovered faintly above her head, flickering in and out of existence.
Her wings were crushed beneath her body, black and white feathers scattered around her, some singed at the edges, others stained with something dark that glimmered faintly beneath the dim light.
A shallow breath escaped her lips.,then another...slowly, her fingers began to move...a sharp ache throbbed through her skull.
She lifted one trembling hand to her temple, wincing as her fingertips brushed against the tender skin. Her vision blurred, the room around her twisting into unfamiliar shapes.
Where was she?
What had happened?
Why couldn't she remember?
Her blue eyes slowly opened.
The first thing she noticed was the smell.
Old wood. Dust. Ink.
Something faintly metallic lingered beneath it.
She tried to push herself upright, but her broken wings dragged painfully against the floor. A strangled gasp escaped her throat, and she collapsed back onto the boards.
The room was unfamiliar.
Heavy wooden furniture stood beneath the shadows. Tall bookshelves lined the walls, their contents disappearing into the darkness. Thick curtains concealed the windows, allowing only a thin sliver of moonlight to slip through.
A large desk stood near the fireplace, cluttered with handwritten notes, open books, and scattered papers.
Beyond it stood a pair of imposing oak doors.
Infernia stared at them, her mind struggling to make sense of her surroundings...then she noticed him.
A man sat behind the desk.
Tall. Blonde. Broad..shouldered.
His appearance was almost unnaturally handsome, his features sharp and composed beneath the dim candlelight. Golden hair fell loosely across his forehead, while his pale eyes remained fixed upon the strange creature who had just crashed into his study...There was something deeply unsettling about him.
Not in the way he looked, but in the silence that surrounded him.
A darkness lingered beneath his skin, something cold and ancient that seemed to seep into the very air around him.Infernia could feel it.
Even through the haze clouding her mind, even through the pain coursing through her broken body, she could sense the unnatural presence within him.
It made the faint light of her halo tremble.
Yet it seemed deafening in the stillness.
Infernia swallowed, trying to steady her breathing.
Her gaze wandered past him, settling upon a framed portrait hanging on the wall...a family.
A woman with a gentle smile. A younger version of the man standing beside her. Another figure whose face seemed strangely familiar, though Infernia could not understand why.
She stared at the portrait...something inside her stirred...a distant, painful sensation...Her fingers tightened against the wooden floor.
Infernia blinked.
She looked down at herself.
A thin trail of blood had begun to seep from her temple, disappearing into the golden strands of her hair.
She touched it cautiously...Her fingertips came away red..for a moment, she simply stared.
Then her blue eyes lifted toward him."Where..." Her voice was barely audible, rough and unfamiliar to her own ears. "Where am I?then to the broken wings scattered across the floor.
Infernia attempted to rise again.
Her wings twitched,a sudden, violent surge of heat erupted beneath her skin.
The candles flickered.
The shadows along the walls stretched unnaturally long...But she noticed him there still ...Something in his eyes sharpened.
Infernia gasped, clutching her chest as a strange energy pulsed through her body. Her halo flared, casting a blinding golden light across the room. For a brief moment, the shadows recoiled, then the light shattered.
Darkness swallowed the room once more.
Infernia fell forward, catching herself against the floor with trembling hands.
She could feel something inside her.
Something immense.
Something dangerous.
Something that had not been there before.
The man slowly rose from his chair.
His shadow stretched across the wooden floor, reaching toward her like a living thing.
Infernia looked up at him.
Her blue eyes were wide with fear and confusion.
She had fallen from the heavens...she had lost her memories.her wings were broken.
And whatever she had become...
She had no idea how to control it.
The man stopped before her, looking down at the fallen angel with an expression she could not decipher.
Then, from somewhere deep within her chest, a faint whisper emerged.
Not her voice.
Not quite.
You were never meant to fall.
Infernia froze.
She stared at him, trembling.
"I..." Her voice faltered. "I think there's something inside me."
And somewhere beneath the darkness of the room, the flames began to awaken again. | |
