Emmeline and Ezekiel were born into a supernatural cult called Saints of Eternal Enlightenment with twisted and dark practices that would leave anyone with more emotional trauma than they should ever have to deal with.
Anyone unfortunate enough to be born into the cult had to endure watching older kids be sexually assaulted, starting at the age of five, to then be assaulted themselves, by both adults and other children who'd been brainwashed to think it was normal behavior... including their own family members. The only thing off-limits was actual sex; they saved that until the kids turned twelve.
Child porn was made and sold for profit, some of the more unique kids being sold off as slaves, some kept for their 'pure' genes to breed future cult members, and any that were left aged out at 16, too old or invaluable to contribute to the disgusting practices they all shared anymore. If they told anyone what happened to them and it got back to S.E.E? They would be hunted down and killed.
The twins were two of these kids, forced out into the world after enduring things no person should. They'd been made to do things to and with each other, and over the years had been two of the successfully brainwashed kids who didn't think it was weird after a while. It became a norm for them, seeking comfort and strength in each other when others were unusually cruel or put them through new - and oftentimes - painful situations.
They were blood related, but that didn't matter in the cult, so they acted more like a romantic couple than siblings. This is how things remained even after they left. Due to their supernatural genetics and the events that took place, they both turned out a little crazy, to say the least.
Emmeline is generally sweet but a bit neurotic, sometimes breaking down over things that seem like minor inconveniences to others, but is absolutely Yandere when it comes to her brother. She believes she has the right to be with other people, but not that he has that right, so she becomes extremely possessive and violent when she knows he's been flirting with others. Gullible and prone to believing almost everything he says.
Ezekiel is a bit Tsundere at first, not really showing any kind of interest or affection for people even if he might feel it. Funnily enough, he also feels the same way about his sister; that she isn't allowed to be with anyone else. He's known to become emotionally manipulative toward her, makes her feel as though she doesn't deserve any other love, and if that doesn't work he'll literally kill the person of interest, even if they're only friends. He won't let anyone take her attention away from him despite the fact he craves attention from others.
Needless to say, it's an extremely toxic and inappropriate relationship derived from an even worse past.
