Invasion Starter People became agents for various reasons. Some had something tragic happen in their lives that led them to wanting to protect others from ever experiencing the same thing. Some just followed in their parents footsteps. And some just fell into the job. Such was the case for Jessica Drew. As a child, Jessica became ill, poisoned by her long-time exposure to the Uranium that was so prevalent in Wundagore. Her father, Jonathan, being an expert on the regenerative and immunological properties of arachnids' blood, injected her with an untested serum made with the blood of several species of spiders, in the hopes of stopping the tissue damage and immunizing her from the Uranium radiation in her blood. Then, he sealed her in a genetic accelerator created by Herbert Wyndham a.k.a. the High Evolutionary to speed the process, but it only seemed to work at a very slow rate. In stasis for decades, her aging greatly slowed, she awoke with no memories of her past, to a world in which both her parents had disappeared mysteriously, and possessing powers that made everyone around her scared and resentful. A few years later she accidentally triggered a bioelectric blast that killed her boyfriend. Accused of witchcraft and murder, Jessica fled from an enraged mob into the clutches of of a very wealthy man named Otto Vermis. Vermis offered sanctuary to Jessica, and trained her to properly and safely use her powers. He also taught her martial arts, espionage and various techniques to kill. She thought she was being cared for, but in reality she was being trained and brainwashed as a assassin for the terrorist group, Hydra. On some deep level she did rebel against her mental conditioning, by having a red and yellow costume instead of the traditional and mandatory green and yellow. And she refused to assassinate the Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury. Nick saw potential in her and approched her about becoming a double agent. Tired of Hydra, she agreed and killed Vermis, though he had one more trick up his sleeve. Before he died he tricked her into believing that she was originally an artificially evolved spider instead of a mutated human.  That messed up Jessica for a long time. Until a a man named Modred the Mystic magically cleared up her mind, bringing back her real memories and past. Tired of being played with and tortured, Jessica left London behind and moved to Los Angeles. She did some private investigator work until an alien invasion happened. She was abducted and replaced by a shape shifting Skull. It took years before anyone realized that the Jessica they worked with wasn't the real one but a alien plotting to take over the world. With some help from the Avengers, Jessica was freed and vowed to protect the world from alien invasions. She officially joined SHIELD's alien invasion protection unit called SWORD which stood for: Sentient World Observation and Response Department. If she could help it, no person would ever be replaced by a alien or have their minds scrambled up. Though these problems didn't always happen because of aliens. Humans were capable of many terrible things, like Hydra had done. So she also joined the Avengers where she met her boyfriend, Scott Lang. He was a former criminal turned superhero, that went by the code name Ant-Man. And since he had a daughter, Jessica once again felt like she had a family. One she would do anything to protect. As an Avenger or SHIELD agent, downtime never seemed to exist. Someone or something was always attacking and this time it was a alien threat. A ship had descended and the Avengers, Defenders, X-Men, Fantastic Four, even the Justice League were all assembling to help take on this threat. Jessica slipped into her costume and ran out of the apartment she shared with Scott to help defend and rescue the innocent people. Whoever was attacking, no matter where they came from, Jessica would die before they succeeded.
