House of Borgia: The Borgia family (aka Borja, Borjia and Borges) became prominent during the Renaissance in Italy. They were from Valencia, the name coming from the family fief of Borja, then in the kingdom of Aragon, in Spain.

The Borgias became prominent in ecclesiastical and political affairs in the 15th and 16th centuries, producing three popes, Alfons de Borja who ruled as Pope Calixtus III during 1455–1458, Rodrigo Lanzol Borgia, as Pope Alexander VI, during 1492–1503, and Giovanni Battista Pamphilj (he was the descdenant of Rodrigo Borgia) who ruled as Pope Innocent X during 1644–1655.

Especially during the reign of Alexander VI they were suspected of many crimes, including adultery, simony, theft, rape, bribery, incest, and murder(especially murder by arsenic poisoning). Because of their grasping for power they made enemies of the Medici, the Sforza, and the Dominican friar Savonarola, among others. They were also patrons of the arts who contributed to the Renaissance.

Today they are remembered for their corrupt rule and the name has become a synonym for treachery and poisoners.

As for our kingdom here, we take our name from one of the most prominent corrupt families there ever was in history. As children, we were placed within this family to manipulate and to send this family on a very sinful adventure, one that will bring most scholars to their knees. It is written that Pope Alexander (ie Rodrigo) gave his soul to the devil, and the result is very much in accordance to that.

There are only Two Rulers in EOD: Empress Libitina Borgia & Emperor Azazel Borgia (This is firmly stated that there shall only be two)

The Empire of The Damned was formed back in 2017, but has remained inactive for a while, but that is all about to change. The kingdom does take its name from the Borgia Family, but we are all very different here, we have a demonology heritage as well, mix that with The Book of Revalations, and you have all sorts of themes and verses to work with. In time we shall go further into that.
