He woke before the alarm. Not that he had really slept much anyway. Most of the night had been spent staring at the ceiling, surrendering to the dark thoughts that always remained in the back of his mind. Today he let his mind win the battle. There was no reason to fight it. He knew it was all the truth anyway. The alarm vibrated, his finger hitting the 'dismiss' button before it even made a sound. Another one would go off soon. He groaned, and tossed the phone aside, turning to his side, and curling up, Hoping for just a few moments of rest before the day ahead. Another alarm came first. This one he just let go off, ignoring the shrill beeping, and just closing his eyes. Why did time need to continue? Couldn't it all just... Stop? The sun had yet to rise, the darkness a comfort. The alarm quieted, and he looked to the phone for a moment before forcing himself to sit up. The alarm went off again before he was able to move, just staring blankly at the window. His mind was quiet for the moment, having said everything it needed. There was a fleeting thought, but he shoved it aside, and stood. He rubbed his face with both hands, running them up into his hair as he made his way to the bathroom to run through his morning routine.

By the time he finished getting ready for the day, the sky had turned the pre Dawn color where it was light, but not quite the red, orange, yellow all tinting the sky just yet. Another alarm went off, quickly dismissed this time. He made his way downstairs, not bothering with breakfast, even though the hollowness of hunger was very clear to him. There was no desire to eat, the hunger would subside eventually if ignored. He shoved his phone in his pocket, ready to head out for the morning. He was supposed to head to execution island, but he didn't quite feel like it. He set his phone on the kitchen counter after a bit of thought, and headed out the door. He closed himself off from being tracked, knowing someone would try to find him when he didn't show up for head bashing. He knew Aidan would find him in his normal place, so he avoided that too.

The dulled thud of music grew louder as he approached the building. He was assaulted with a wave of noise, and a stench of stale, booze soaked wood as he opened the door to the bar. Once inside, he locked the door, using his powers to melt the lock and weld it shut. He did the same to all of the exits, careful not to catch too much notice as he did. Once the building was secured, and he knew no one could leave, he took a seat at the bar.
"Rum." He said when the bartender made his way over. "The whole bottle." The man looked doubtful until Ba'al took out his wallet, and placed several large bills in front of the man. The bartender took the money and left the bottle. Ba'al picked up the bottle, taking a long swig before heading into a booth located in a dark corner. He sat back, smirking to himself as he watched the people enjoying themselves. He glanced to the wall of liquor behind the bar, and pointed to one of the bottles with his index finger, thumb cocked like a mock gun. He fired the imaginary gun at the bottle in the top center, exhaling a soft sound like an explosion. A few seconds later, the bottle exploded, the liquor ignited. The glass shattered, making a glorious sound that he knew Lael would have cheered for if he had been there. The explosion created a domino effect the heat building, and igniting more of the bottles.

The chaos could now begin...

His smile broadened, eyes closing as he reveled in the ensuing panic. He stretched out in the booth, laying back, and listening to the screams growing as the fire spread. He focused his thoughts, melting the sprinkler system so it would rain molten metal instead. He took a drink of his rum, finally feeling relaxed for the first time in the day. The counter of the bar went up quickly. It seemed all the alcohol that had soaked into the wood over the years made it extremely flammable. His smile darkened, a sadistic chuckle escaping as he watched the patrons flocking to the locked exits. Soon they would be trampling each other to escape.

The heat from the flames strengthened him, and he fueled them to grow hotter, bigger, and faster. Fire would consume and destroy everything in a matter of moments. It was glorious! He downed the rest of the rum, tossing the bottle in the flames, and folded his hands behind his head as the fire claimed the booth he was laying in. The fire raged around him, reviving him, burning away everything that had been weighing on him. It would all still be there when he returned, but for now... Just for now he could relax and forget. Nothing mattered as the flames embraced, and renewed him. The screams grew louder before finally finishing as the fire consumed them.
"Humans..." He sneered, the alcohol on his breath fueling the fire. "So damn flammable...." The screams silenced, leaving only the crackling of the flames. His smile remained, drifting off to sleep. He let the walls he had put up to block everyone out of his mind fade away.
