Patrick had just come back from checking on a patient of his. He walked up to the nurse's desk when he heard the elevator. He turned around to see the doors open.
Elizabeth came back from checking on Mariah. "Sharon, Dylan. Mariah's going to be just fine. Dr. Drake, operated on her, and he's the best. He'll be by to talk to you, but he's in a meeting with Dr. Quartermaine. As soon as he's done, he'll be here to see you both.
You can go, and see Mariah now if you like, she's in ICU, and still sleeping. But, everything's fine." She, looked at them all.
"Thank you, Patrick. I'm very happy for you. You deserve it. You came here to help, Jason. Then you made a life for yourself. You've worked very hard, over the years. And, you made this hospital, a better place for it.
And, you, get to have my office." She, looked at him, and grinned. She, went over to the chair, and picked up a wrapped box, and gave it him. "This is your new name plate for the Office Door. Dr. Patrick Drake, Head of G. H. And, this is your new name plate, for your desk. Congratulations again, Patrick." She, smiled softly at him.
Dylan held Sharon close to him and sighed. "I know you're worried about Mariah and Faith. I am too." He kissed the top of her head. He looked at Jason. "Thank you for calling, Nick." He rubbed Sharon's back. "We're going to find Faith, honey. I'm not going to stop until I find her then I'll bring her back."
Patrick smiled when he heard Monica. He felt her hug and hugged her back a little bit tighter. "You're welcome, Monica. No, I don't have any questions. I'm very honored that you trust me enough for this. I just want to say thank you for everything. Working for you was an absolute pleasure. You were an amazing boss. The hospital is not going to be the same without you." He chuckled softly when he heard Tracy and hugged her back a little bit tighter. "Thank you, Tracy. I promise the both of you, I will not let you down."
Tracy went over to Patrick, and smiled. "Congratulations, Dr. Drake. I know that you're going to be fantastic, since you already are. It's my turn, Monica." She hugged him tightly, and giggled.
"Oh, Patrick. Dr. Drake, thank you, very much." She went over to him, and hugged him tightly. "I feel so much better now, with you at the head of the hospital.
As I said, we have two more people to help you. So, you won't have to go it alone. Dr. Britt Westbourne, said yes. I just have one more person, to talk to. Then I'll make the formal announcement to the hospital." She, smiled softly at him. "Do you have, any questions." She, looked at him.
Jason sighed as he watched Sharon with Dylan. "I'll call Nick. We're going to find Faith, Sharon. I promise you." He took out his phone and called Nick. "Nick, it's Jason. You need to come down to the hospital right away. I don't want to tell you this over the phone." He got off and looked at them. "He's on his way."
Sharon came to the hospital with Dylan, Elizabeth, and Jason. She watched, as Elizabeth went to check on Mariah. Anna came in, a few minutes later. "Dylan. I'm so worried about my girls. Has, any one, called Nick. He needs to know, about, Faith, and Mariah." She, hung on to Dylan.
"Oh, that's okay, Patrick. The Nurses' Station called me." She, smiled at him. "Yes, I have decided to retire from, General Hospital. And, The Board and I have come down to three doctors to replace me.
It's not fair for one doctor to spend their whole life here, like I did. And, I have decided that you would be one of three doctors, to take my place, if you accept our offer, Patrick." She, looked at him.
Patrick was on his way to the conference room to meet with Monica and the board. When he was paged about Mariah. He went on the elevator as it took him down to the er. He went into the trauma room and sighed when he saw her. After being filled in on her condition, he brought her upstairs to surgery. A few hours later, he was finished as Mariah was brought into recovery. He cleaned up then went back to the conference room where he saw Monica. "Hi, sorry I'm late. I came as soon as you called me but there was an emergency surgery I had to do. You said there was something you needed to ask me."
Tracy was with, Monica. "Monica. Are you sure, about retiring. Why not, take a leave of absence, instead. You, love this hospital. You shouldn't be letting Mikkos win, like this." She, looked at her.
Monica was in the Board Room, with the Board Members, getting ready, to ask Patrick, John, and Britt, to take over the hospital for Monica, who was retiring.
