Patrick had just come back from checking on a patient of his. He walked up to the nurse's desk when he heard the elevator. He turned around to see the doors open.
Patrick looked at Monica after hearing Victoria. "Thank you for this, Monica." He gave her a soft smile as they all went into the board room. After she made the announcement, he heard everyone clapping and smiled. "Thank you for this great honor. I can't begin to express what it means to me." He took a deep breath. "I came here in 2005 and little did I know how much it would change my life. Before coming here, I worked at many hospitals but when I came here, there was something different. It wasn't just a place to work. It was a family. This hospital has quite the history and I've had the honor and pleasure of working and learning from some of the greats. Some who are no longer here, others who are still here with us but retired. I promise you, that I will continue to honor that history."
"Well, if we are all ready, to inside, I will make the announcement." Monica came in with Victoria and the kids, Patrick, and Britt.
"Hello, every one. Thank you, all for coming. I have an announcement to make. I have decided that it's time to retire, from General Hospital. And, The Board and I decided to hand over the reigns of this great hospital to, Dr. Patrick Drake, who will be the new Chief, starting now. And, his new Assistant will be, Dr. Britt Westbourne.
I want to thank you all, for making G. H. the best place to work. I would like for you all, to extend the same courtesy you have all give to myself and my family to Dr. Drake and Dr. Westbourne. So, I give you, our new Chief. Dr. Patrick Drake.
Dr. Drake."
Monica clapped her hands along with every one else.
Victoria hugged him back tightly. "Monica invited us to be here with you today. And, the school gave the kids, special permission to be here. Every one, is so proud of you, Patrick. Congratulations, my love." She, hugged him. "I think Monica, is ready to go in now."
Patrick came to the Board Room with Monica and was surprised upon seeing Victoria with the kids. He went over to them and hugged them. "I had no idea that you were going to be here. Such a nice surprise. You being here makes this day even more special."
Monica came to The Board Room with Patrick, and saw Victoria and Britt. "Victoria. Thank you, for coming with the children. We, couldn't do this, without you." She, hugged them tightly. Then hugged Britt. "Just a few more minutes, then I'll go inside." She, smiled at them.
Britt came to The Board Room, and smiled when she saw, Victoria. "Victoria. I'm so glad, you came." She, hugged her tightly, then the kids. "Hi, Katie, hi, Johnnie. Are you guys excited for, daddy." She, giggled when they said yes. She, sat down next to them. "Waiting for Monica, and Patrick, to come." She, grinned at them.
Michael got off the elevator and was about to go into the board room when he saw Victoria with the kids. He went over to them. "Hi you guys." He knelt down beside them. "You're here to surprise your daddy? He's gonna be so happy to see you." He stood up. "Patrick is gonna be so thrilled that you're here, Victoria. It was good seeing you. I got to the board room." He went inside.
Victoria came to The Board Room, with Katie and Johnny. She, waited outside for, Patrick. "Remember, kids. This is daddy's big day, and you both promised to be good for him, right." They both said yes. "Let's go sit over here, and wait for him, so we can, surprise him."
Emily smiled. "Hello every one. I know, of course. But, I'm not at liberty to say. But, you can all relax. It's something very good, for a change." Emily smiled at them again.
Franco made his way to the board room. "Lucas, John, Elizabeth, Emily. You all got the same call. Have any idea what's going on?" He asked as he went to pour himself some coffee.
