Pierced by ice
Category: Uncategorized

Arethusa was meditating down by the ocean. As of late she just didn′t feel herself and the one spot where she could always find herself again was near the water. Eyes closed she breathed in and out hands in her lap shoulders squared head tipped back the warm rays of the sun could be felt against her skin but some how it didn′t warm her like it normally would.  Her heart felt heavy with everyone mixing into her business causing her heart to break.

A shiver ran up Arethusa′s spine and the tips of her fingers felt of ice as her breath was coming out in bouts of frost. She opened her eyes and they widened at what she saw. Ice had formed over the sand she was sitting on like a fine layer. She looked at her hands and the tips where blue before shifting back to normal.

She quickly stood up about to get some help when she felt her heart harden. Ice was covering her heart she clutched her chest gasping for air trying to scream out for someone to help her but the only thing that came out was the frost breath and she fell to her knees the tears that streamed down her face froze just as quickly as she produced them and she gasped out loudly getting one gurgling scream out before the ice seemed to pierce inside of her heart.

It took her a few moments to recover before she stood to her feet. Hands in front of her. As she noticed her skin was paler and almost glistened in the sunlight as her hand moved to her chest and she could no longer feel the heavy burden of caring to much about anyone. As she moved her fingers through her hair she felt ice crystals in them. Pulling the once blonde hair into her view it was now pale blue.

Arethusa felt eyes on her and she whipped around right quick and she saw nothing at first but a outline of a man appeared. "Your heartache was to much to bare. So I have given you a gift. You will not fall in love ever unless someone can warm your heart and soul. Which as you know does not come easily." The man′s voice was deep and yet quiet like the wind blowing as soon as he was done speaking he dissolved into thin air and Arethusa stood in the frost covered sand for hours mulling over what had just happened to her. As the moon lifted high in the sky so did a smirk on Arethusa′s face. She could life a carefree life one without the burden of love.
