Caspian's final phase into adulthood
Category: Uncategorized

Checking his watch, he had two hours till midnight. Two hours before adulthood would be forced upon him by Molly. Cerise was off preparing for her shift on the wall. Normally him just walking out the gate would attract attention and he was being watched like a hawk. But this night he was going to attempt his first portal. He had studied this spell for the entire week for this evening.

He dressed in all black then made his way up to the tower. He chanted the spell and a portal warped into view, weak but there. He quickly stepped inside and out the other side. "Sonofabitch!" He said under his breath finding himself just a few feet outside the wall near a prehistoric cedar tree. He pressed his back into the tree as listened closely to see if he had alerted the wall. Silence filled the night giving a huff of a sigh.

Two healthy legs carried him in a furry towards Molly's hidden lair. The very cottage one of the Fallen had discovered him in. He raced through the woods, arms blocking his face from a few low branches. He was about halfway to his destination when Molly appeared and lifted him up into the trees. "You actually listened. After our last encounter I had some doubt. I've been circling the kingdom all week." She stated casually as she took him in another direction, the ritual wouldn't be performed in her coven. "I told you I would be here. Where are we going?" He asked looking around to get some idea of where he was.

When she finally floated them to the ground he noticed they weren't but a few miles from the kingdom gates. "This is to close Molly. We will be seen." He added with a hint of worry in his tone. "It has to be here. The sacrificial rock is here. Now lay on the rock just there." She pointed with a sharp claw at the end of her index finger. He did as he was told and climbed upon the large stone. "Please take away the pain this time. Last time was murderous."

She smirked down at him as she climbed on top of him. "As a man you should be able to handle the pain. But this night as your take on adulthood, I have a surprise for you." Closing his eyes he prepared himself mentally for the upcoming pain. Molly straddled his hips, chanting the familiar spell he had heard each time he grew. Pain coursed throughout his body as he contorted and twisted as he growled. Bones again snapped and broke as they grew and fused back together. Her icy hand covered his lips, fearful he would be heard.

What seemed like hours of sheer torture he faded in and out of conscience. "Now for your treat. I'm taking your life. I'm going to bleed you dry even if I only need a small portion." He could only assume he had misunderstood from his groggy state. "I thought you cared about me. Don't do this please, Molly." His voice raspy and laced with hurt. "I trusted you. My whole kingdom will find you and kill you." His eyes watered, he had trusted her.

His begging to faded in and out, but they must have worked. Molly now too over him, left foot in hand. She stomped his leg just at the knee, it snapped, flesh torn in two. A guttural scream left his body before he passed out again. This time she couldn't cover his mouth fast enough as it reached the gates and the ears of every member within. Molly feasted on the leg she ripped clean from his knee, draining it dry.

She gave a shrill howl as her plan had failed her. Because of the curse upon his father, that very blood coursed thru his veins. The blood she drank was tainted not pure as she assumed. "You bastard! Next time I lay eyes on you, I will kill you. You should have told me of your cursed blood cells." A rumble of guards and Fallen in the distance prevented her a word more. Her mission of becoming the most powerful vampire failed because of his dads curse. And now she was on the run, except this time she could be traced from the smell of his blood she hadn't washed off.

Barely able to move, he managed to flop to his belly. Nails raked the dirt as he tried to crawl closer to the gates. Blood pulsing from what was left of his knee, he rolled to his back. He fought to remove his belt with little to no grip. Minutes later it was free from his pant loops and was fumbling to tie off his now nub. But before he completely finished he fell back from fainting. Caspian lay gasping for air his pale skin losing what color he did have.
