Asgard′s Yards Summer Fights Round 1 Fight 2 Herdis VS Jace

Jace took in a few deep breathes walking towards the sanded circle in the yards. For some unknown reason his name got pulled in with Herdis to fight. It was no secret that he was in love with her. It was also no secret Herdis was made at him. He knew her combat skills where not up to par with his own she relied on her magic being one of the most powerful in all the nine. But today she wouldn't be allowed to use it against him. When Jace looked over at her standing beside him she was looking up at her father who was trying to silence the crowds forming around the yards.

"Today marks the second fight of the yard fights in round one. The first will be tough to beat for a crowd favorite." Jace snorted looking at his feet with the people chanted for Zilch. He knew Zilch was somewhere close as he was training with his young sister Herdis but he didn't have much time on it. Thor spoke once more. "I am proud to announce that my daughter Herdis Thor-Daughter will be facing Jace former King's ward. He has come back from Atlantis just for this fight." people cheered once more. "Now simple rules this is for fun so no killing one another, no magic, and no permit damage." Thor waved a hand to the weapon's rack. "If you both are ready pick your weapon." Jaace let Herdis pick first only wanting to match whatever she would be picking.

Herdis had stood center of the yards, watching her father and waiting for Jace to arrive. She was furious with him which didnt stem her excitement to see him or be there, but it colored her attitude for the day. She tried not to look over at him as he entered and when she couldnt help it anymore she peeked before her father said they could choose weapons. Because her brothers had been the ones training her she choose a sleek axe. It had a thin handle and a slim but deep curse to the bottom it didnt have at the top. It was easier for her to swing so she could try and duplicate what her brothers did in the yards. She then stepped back waiting for Jace to make his choice.

Jace watched her pick her ax and he found it funny all of Thor's children enjoyed it so much so he moved to pick up the two smaller axes to which where more for throwing but he figured it would give Herdis the one up on such things. Stepping back into the middle of the sand circle he looked at Herdis when Thor called for them to fight. He knew her mother the Queen of Asgard would be on the edge of her seat worried her baby girl was in the fight so Jace moved to a stance in the sand and he waved Herdis at him for her to start.

Herdis watched Jace made his selections and then move to stand as her father called a start to the fight. When he made no moves at all she was confused, until he waved her on and then she arched a brow clearly annoyed. Doing little to improve her mood she debated using her powers just to knock him on his ass for spite, but that would end things much to quickly. So she started to move in, holding her axe at the ready, to swing in or deflect she wasnt sure yet. When she was within range of him she watched him evenly and just as Zilch had taught her she extended her arm, letting the axe cut down through the air towards Jace.

Jace could tell she was getting angrier with him and he also knew you needed to control your emotions while fighting but he saw her run towards him and he noticed her move to swing he side stepped and watched her hit air and he used the back of one ax to tap her on the shoulder this got the crowd to laugh at her expense something he frowned for only because he didn't want anyone to laugh at her.

Herdis knew instantly now why Magni didnt manage to hold his own longer with Zilch, because he was also known for letting his emotions get the best of him, and he didnt even have the added bonus he did of being a really good fighter to start with. When Jace side stepped her she wanted to groan in frustration and the color that ran up her cheeks was for him and not the crowd. Quickly she slid the axe through her hands so she held just under the blade and then jabbed the handles wood back towards Jace.

Jace was not expecting her to push the handle back to the axe and he caught the wooden handle to the goods he groaned in pain and cupped himself as pain shot threw him and he fell to his knees trying to breath. He knew if he was down to long on the sand he would be out so he balanced his hand on one axe and the other moved between Herdis's feet and he side swiped her leg so she would fall as well.

Herdis wasnt as disturbed by the sudden feeling of weightlessness as she fell. But the smacking into the ground so the wind knocked out of her was officially her least favorite feeling. She rolled onto her side, hip digging into the sandy floor as she looked over at Jace. Shaking out her hair she kicked out against his side, less to hurt and more to insure he didnt get up favoring the side she was on, so her foot aimed for his hip before she rolled up onto her knees to rise. She left her pants sandy as she reclaimed her grip on her axe, thinking twice now of swinging without a clear plan of action.

Jace saw the kick coming and he let her but it wasn't a big enough impact for him to be hurt. So he moved to stand up slowly the pain still tingling where the wooden handle caught him moments ago. Once he stood fully up he looked at her hair tussled up and she was half covered in sand from where she fell. His stance much like the start of the fight and he waved her on with his fingers only this time he would let her win the blow.

Herdis turned to see Jace rising and she frowned at his need to once again just stand there beckoning her forward as if he was bored. She Wanted to give another little sound of frustration but she kept it in. Since her axe sported one long slim curve to the blade and the other edge had something akin to blunt skinny hammer she turned the weapon in her hand so the curve swung near her body when she moved forward again. But this time she swung to drive the hard blunt lines of the axes backside into Jaces chest, not pulling the swing in fear like she sometimes did when she was wielding a blade.

Jace stood there waiting for her to come at him he noticed her switch to the back end of the axe and his lips twitched in little amusement but he let her hit him clear in the chest and he jumped off so the impact looked much more powerful for her benefit. Once he was laying in the sand face up towards the skies he breathed in as if something was wrong. He was faking the injury only because he couldn't give her the final blow to knock her out because he simply did not wish to harm her. Everyone looked in silence towards the sanded circle not understanding what just happened. Thor stood after a few moments when Jace didn't move and he moved to lift his daughter's arm in the air as the victor. "Winner of fight two is Herdis Thor-daughter." the crowd was a mixture of still unbelieving and cheers. Thor moved over to help Jace up and he looked at him all to knowing and he shook his head moving back to join his wife. Jace looked towards Herdis and gave her a curt nod. "Congratulations Herdis." Jace's voice spoke softly.

Herdis felt the blow land, there was a little shaking in the handle she held once he was knocked back off of his feet and she was a little socked it did much more then make him stumble backwards. Still she watched him letting the weapon she held hang at her side as she realized he wasnt getting back up, watching the way his face moved as he breathed. It was a huge surprise when her father lifted her arm in the air an she watched as he helped Jace to his feet. She didnt focus on her father walking away and when Jace spoke she simply nodded embarrassed that it made her want to cry in front of a lot of people. With her curt nod of thanks she turned and focused on her mothers relieved face because her daughter hadnt been hurt.
