Miles Elliot was living a happy life with his new wife, Kate. He had bought them a house in the suburbs of New York to start their new life and to start planning for a family. It felt like something out of a storybook. They busied themselves with fixing up the house in between going to work. But, things started to get rocky after a few months of wedded bliss.
After Kate had a miscarriage, they thought they would never be able to have kids the normal way, so they talked it over and decided that in vitro was the best poosible way for them to have a baby. When Miles kept rescheduling his appointments at the fertility clinic, Kate wondered if he even wanted to have children at all. They started arguing and fighting more. His performance at work was starting to slack, and his boss could see it. Him and Kate began to fight more and more, until she had, had enough, bringing up the subject of divorce. Being in a heat of anger, he told her that if that's what she wanted, then she got it. This caused him to become more slack at work, causing his boss to fire him. Miles was going through a rough time, and it seemed like no one understood.
One night, Miles decided to finally stop moping around the apartment and feeling sorry for himself. He cleaned up and went out to a nice restaurant to treat himself. What he didn't expect, was to see Kate there, waiting tables. They both stood there, like the world had frozen in time. He smiled as he saw her. She still looked the same as she did seven years ago when they decided to split. They talked for a while, as she told him that she still thought about him, and that she was still madly in love with him. He felt the same way about her. They decided to try to work things out, going slow this time, as to not rush into anything they would regret.
